What is Youth Outlook all about?
Youth Outlook is a safe place for people of any sexual orientation and gender identity to participate in group discussions and activities.

What kind of activities do you have at the drop-in centers?
Our programming is based on what our youth tell us they need and want. Sometimes the activities are serious, like when we talk about safe sex or healthy relationships. Sometimes they are lighthearted, with movies and games.

What is a typical night at a drop-in center like?
The first 30 minutes are very casual, a time when youth can socialize with each other. This is followed by check-in, where group participants introduce themselves. We then have group announcements from the staff and youth leaders, followed by the night’s main activity. Each drop-in center meeting is about two hours long.

I’m nervous about being accepted. Will I be welcomed at Youth Outlook?
Yes. Everyone at Youth Outlook is accepted and treated with dignity and respect.

I’m straight, but my friend is gay and wants my support. Can I attend?
Yes. We welcome straight allies, too.

What are some of the topics talked about at the drop-in centers?
Whatever our youth are concerned about! Coming out, dating, school, going to college, current events, and more.

Do I have to sign up ahead of time to join a drop-in center group?
No. All you have to do is show up.

Who runs the centers?
Our drop-in centers are run by trained Youth Outlook volunteers and youth leaders.
