Founded in 1998, Youth Outlook is Illinois’ first and longest-running social services agency dedicated to supporting LGBTQ+ youth. We provide the care and community LGBTQ+ young people need to thrive, offering statewide services that include virtual and in-person programs for youth and young adults ages 5-24, caregiver and parent support, health and wellness navigation, and community education and professional development.
Our funding follows the non-profit best practices of coming from varied sources. We currently have the support of individuals, events, grants, businesses, and community organizations. With the addition of our conference and additional professional development training, we are moving towards 10% self-funding.
In 2022, we were awarded our first federal grant via the American Rescue Plan Act for services in Will County. This grant is funded until 2026. In 2024, we have been awarded funding via the IDHS Transgender and Gender Diverse Wellness and Equity Program. This grant is funded until June 2025.
We have a Platinum Transparency Seal from Candid (formerly Guidestar) for our financial practices and stewardship of donated funds.
