Understanding Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Gender Expression (10th grade Health Class presentation)

Offers students an opportunity to understand the spectrums of identity, including SOGIE (sexual orientation, gender identity, and expression), enhancing their awareness and empathy towards LGBTQ+ peers. It emphasizes the importance of being an ally and promotes a culture of inclusivity and support within your school community. Additionally, the session provides essential resources for both students and educators, aligning with the National Sex Ed Standards. (45 minutes) 

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand the complexities of SOGIE (sexual orientation, gender identity, and expression) and the experience of LGBTQ+ peers.
  2. Learn the importance of being an ally and how to actively promote a culture of inclusivity and support for LGBTQ+ individuals within the school community.
  3. Gain knowledge of essential resources available for both students and educators to support ongoing learning and advocacy for LGBTQ+ inclusivity.
