Youth Outlook’s mission is to celebrate, empower, advocate for, and provide services to meet the ever-evolving needs of LGBTQ+ youth and their families, friends, and communities. Founded in 1998, Youth Outlook provides statewide virtual and in-person programs for LGBTQ+ youth and young adults ages 5-24, caregiver and parent support, health and wellness navigation, and community education and professional development.

“When LGBTQ+ youth have a space where they’re genuinely welcomed, everything else, their confidence, their mental health, their sense of what’s possible, starts to shift,” said Nancy Mullen, Executive Director of Youth Outlook. “That’s what our Drop-In Centers are built to create, and it’s why this support from DuPage Foundation matters so much.”

“One of my favorite parts of working with the Foundation is getting to celebrate the incredible organizations that make DuPage County stronger,” said Betsy Goltermann, DuPage Foundation Trustee and Grant Committee Chair. “Thanks to the generosity of our donor advisors and funding partners, we were able to make this our largest Community Impact grant cycle ever. Seeing so many people come together in support of these nonprofits is truly inspiring.”

During DuPage Foundation’s spring grant cycle each year, local nonprofits like Youth Outlook, serving DuPage County in the areas of health & human services, are awarded funding that supports programs and projects that improve and enrich the quality of life for DuPage County residents. Community Impact grant applications for DuPage Foundation’s fall cycle – supporting programs in the areas of youth education, workforce development, environment, and animal welfare – are due Friday, September 4, 2026. The 2026 grant guidelines are posted at dupagefoundation.org/community-impact-grant.
