When we talk to school faculty and administrators, or health professionals, or social service workers, they often tell us that they don’t know much about LGBTQ+ youth—what particular risks they face, or what resources are available for them in the community. They want to help, but they’re sometimes not sure how.
Youth Outlook has provided educational workshops to healthcare, mental health, and educational professionals since our founding, exploring the developmental needs of LGBTQ+ youth, how to best support them and make positive changes in schools and/or agencies. The goal of this work is to foster a safe and inclusive atmosphere in area schools and community organizations.
If you would like to schedule a Youth Outlook presentation at your school, agency, or business, please fill in this inquiry form. We are happy to customize a workshop to meet your needs.
Organizations are also welcome to join the Community Networks for Professionals Supporting LGBTQ+ Youth, co-founded by Youth Outlook. The group consists of dozens of agencies including hospitals, churches, school districts, PFLAG groups, and social service agencies. This is the only group for professionals concerned with LGBTQ+ youth issues in our region of the state.
If you have a specific concern facing an LGBTQ+ youth in your life, please explore the resource links on this website.
